So what's the cause?

It has been weeks since Thistle had done any bucking but today she bucked her heart. Cadence wasn’t in the saddle at the time but was lounging Thistle for a warm-up prior to ridding. A few possibilities we are considering:

1. Thistle is about ready to begin her heat and she has always been a testy while in heat.

2. The chiropractor had been out and did a small adjustment on her back. Perhaps it hurt more than was predicted.

3. A bur under her saddle. We checked that but didn’t find anything.

Once Cadence had control again she worked Thistle over some obstacles without any further problems and then went out on a trail ride. She rode with friends, Thistles first time out away from the barn with other riders and their horses.

Everything went well.
